The MCM Comic Con series of events kicked 2018 off with their Birmingham expo at the NEC with a range of stage shows, cosplayers, exhibitors and more special guests than you could throw a stick at!
We started our coverage with an exploration around the show floor, the event felt a lot bigger than the November event and it was great to see so many cosplayers in amazing costumes throughout the show floor. We had to take a small detour at this point to find one of our colleagues who had troubles getting his weekend ticket but once we managed to find the right place to go we were back to exploring the show floor.
We spent the majority of the show looking around the expo, we bought a few bits, got a load of pictures around the show (Coming soon to Flickr) before heading off to the Cosplay Masquerade. Unfortunately due to the forecast of snow a few of those who were due to perform decided it was safer getting on the train home while the trains were still running (Nothing like the UK Trains grinding to a standstill at the first flake of snow...).
The masquerade was excellent and there were so many very talented cosplayers performing and showing off all the hard work they put into their costumes. We have a load of amazing pictures from the masquerade coming soon to our Flickr, so keep an eye out there!
Unfortunately due to the snow and poor road conditions our Sunday at the event was cut exceptionally short in order to make sure we could get our team back home safe and sound before the sun would start to set. We took a final walk through the show floor, Alex bought a T-Shirt (though managed to somehow leave it on a table in the press room when we left), and we all headed back home.
A massive thank you to all of the team at MCM for making this another awesome event, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (Well except for the snow...) and we can't wait to see everyone at MCM London in May!
